ARTISAN Toric Phakic IOLs are designed for the correction of regular astigmatism in combination with myopia or hyperopia. The asymmetric optic has two components: sphere and cylinder. All (spherical) ARTISAN lenses for myopia and hyperopia can be supplied with cylinders between 1 and 7.5 diopters. It is also possible to supply optics with only a cylindric correction. BO150 VacuFix The VacuFix comprises two holders with an aspiration tip that can be attached to the phaco machine. A vacuum is created to clip a precise and replicable amount of iris tissue between the haptics of the lenses. The advantages of this technique are precision for the patient and surgeon, speed and convenience and, accordingly, comfort for the patient. Surgeons starting with the lenses of the Artisan Family will enjoy the benefits of this technique, but this vacuum method will also be useful to experienced surgeons. The precision of the procedure makes it easier to exactly place the Artisan/Artiflex toric lenses. It also becomes especially easy to grip the iris tissue for the Artisan Aphakia lenses. |
